Just south of Cashiers North Carolina is the exceptionally beautiful Silver Run Falls. This 30ft waterfall is one of the more beautiful waterfalls in the area. It pours into a large plunge pool that is also a popular summer swimming hole. Just minutes from downtown Cashiers, this beauty is only 1/4 of a mile from the road via a mostly level and very well maintained hiking trail.

The trailhead to Silver Run Falls is located 4 miles south of Cashiers on NC Highway 107. There is a small signed parking area that will be on the left if you are traveling from Cashiers. The parking area is not too large and it can quickly become full during the popular summer months. There are no restroom facilities at the parking area or trailhead.

The trailhead starts at the far end of the parking area just behind the sign. It is very obvious and easy to follow and is a wonderful walk through the woods. The trail is mostly level and the creek crossing that you encounter is bridged. It really isn’t that far of a walk before you reach the steps at the end of the trail that take you to Silver Run Falls.

Silver Run Falls is an absolute gem. It is a picture perfect waterfall and a great place to relax at and visit year round. The viewing area around the plunge pool isn’t too large but should provide enough room for people to have some space to enjoy the area most days. On warm summer days you are likely to find people cooling off in the clear pool at the base of the falls. This is a magical spot in the woods that you are sure to enjoy on your visit.

This is an out and back hike so hike safely back to the parking lot when you are done enjoying Silver Run Falls. Be careful pulling away from the parking lot.
